In St. Petersburg, teenagers extinguished the eternal flame

S.-PETERSBURG, 8 Feb – RIA Novosti. Schoolchildren extinguished the Eternal Flame at the memorial to the Unknown Soldier in St. Petersburg, their identities have been established, the press service of the GUMVD in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reports.

“On February 7, at about four o'clock in the afternoon, the police received a message that the Eternal Flame was not burning in the Palace Park, at the memorial to the Unknown Soldier … As a result of the investigation, the police established that teenagers were involved in the incident. Four minors, from 10 to 12 years old, were at the memorial, after which one of the teenagers threw a ball of snow into the fire, as a result of which the flame went out, “the report says.

According to the press service, specialists quickly restored the burning of the Eternal Flame. We had a preventive conversation with children and their parents. The issue of bringing parents to administrative responsibility under Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure by parents or other legal representatives of minors to fulfill their obligations to support and educate minors” is being addressed.
