MOSCOW, February 7 – RIA Novosti. The eternal flame at the monument to the Sons of Russia and the Soviet Union in the Slovenian capital, whose work was violated by vandals in January, has started working again, the Russian embassy in Ljubljana said.
The Russian embassy on January 22 reported that the actions of vandals led to the extinguishing of the gas burner of the Eternal Flame. On the initiative of the embassy, a police investigation was opened, and the city hall of Ljubljana was also notified of the incident.
“The eternal flame at the monument to the Sons of Russia and the Soviet Union, who died on Slovenian soil during the First and Second World Wars, is burning again! We express our gratitude to the Mayor's Office of Ljubljana for assistance in restoring the work of the memorial,” the statement on the embassy's website says.
The embassy also posted a photo of the burning Eternal Flame.
