The governor urged to intensify the work of the Arctic fishing cluster in this direction during a meeting with its participants and the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov, who was in Pomorie on a working visit.
The state of affairs in the implementation of the project using the capabilities of the Arctic fishing cluster created on the basis of the Arkhangelsk region was discussed at a meeting of the regional fisheries council.
According to the message, the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery visited the site of the future center, noting the uniqueness of its geographical location.
“The fishing industry of the region is developing very dynamically today. The Arkhangelsk fishing industry is building ultra-modern vessels that need servicing. The representatives of the industry certainly have an interest in such a center on the basis of the port of Arkhangelsk. According to the governor of Pomorie, the center will comprehensively serve both vessels of local companies and those delivering goods by the Northern Sea Route.

At the same time, the head of the region admitted that he was not satisfied with the pace of project implementation.

The total investment in the creation of a center for comprehensive services for fishing vessels is estimated at 600 million rubles.
In parallel, the region is working on training personnel for the fishing industry, in particular, on the resumption of the activities of the fishing industry college in the Arkhangelsk region.
